SOS Beginnings

Southwest Office Systems, Inc., founded in 1964 by Victor Puente, Sr., began as a two-man typewriter repair company.  Rapid growth led to sons Buddy and Vince joining their father in 1972.  This began career paths that would lead to management and eventually ownership.  In 1975, SHARP introduced their first plain paper copier beginning SOS’s expanded vision.  SOS became a SHARP facsimile dealer in 1987 which initiated their entry into digital products.  Southwest Office Systems has since grown to be the largest minority-owned, independent office equipment dealer in the Southwest.

SOS Future

Completed in late 1997, SOS’s 39,000 sq. ft headquarters was designed with client support as the central element and to make a statement of commitment to North Texas.  Located near D/FW International Airport, the facility positions SOS for growth in sales and technology well into the new millennium.  With the strength of being independent and an emphasis on people, product and service, SOS is equipped to meet the demands of the evolving document imaging industry.

SOS Commitment

“Simply Outstanding Service by Simply Outstanding People…we have the people, the expertise and the technology to enhance your staff’s productivity.  We strive to provide added value to our products while increasing your bottom line.  It is our job to make it as simple as touching that green button and receiving a crisp, clean copy.  We treat our clients with respect.  We appreciate your business and we work to keep you as a customer for a lifetime.  Remember, at SOS…we are not driven by the value of our stock, but by the value of our clients and teammates.”
